Victor Orta, the sports director of Sevilla, has said that Kelechi Iheanacho had a strong work ethic upon joining the team.
The Nigerian international was recruited by the Rojiblancos last week on a free transfer.
Iheanacho’s contract with Premier League team Leicester City expired in June, therefore he departed.
Several European and Saudi Arabian teams pursued the 27-year-old, but he ultimately decided to sign with the reigning UEFA Europa League winners.
Iheanacho had a strong desire to join the team, admitted Orta.
Orta said on the club’s official website, “We always work with several options. There was a moment when Iheanacho showed a lot of will to come and that made us speed up.”
Those in his immediate vicinity see several opportunities for success in the Spanish league.
